How e dey work
Three quick steps from your device reach anybody inbox.
Whether you need a fast cloud file upload tool or a simple way to upload and share files online, the process takes three steps and needs no software to install.
1. Upload
Drop your files or choose dem from your device. Send reach 5 GB for each file, no account needed.
Drag files onto the page or pick them with the file browser. You can add several files and upload more at any time.
2. Get your link
We dey create special download link for every file, ready to copy for seconds.
Every transfer gets its own unique, hard-to-guess link. You can copy it with one click, or leave it as it is and send it on your own terms.
3. Share
Paste the link anywhere, or email am straight from LinearFiles. Links dey expire after 4 days.
To send the link by email, enter the recipient's address, add an optional note, and LinearFiles sends it for you. Your recipient clicks the link and downloads the file directly in their browser. They do not need to create an account or install anything.
What happens behind the scenes
Your files are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection and stored in Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), a cloud file storage service. They are not kept on our web server's own disk, and the link is the only way to reach them.
When links expire
Every link expires 4 days after upload. After that, a background job removes the file from storage. If someone opens the link after it has expired, they see an "expired" page instead of the file.
Quick reference
- File size: up to 5 GB per file.
- Link lifetime: 4 days from upload.
- Accounts: not needed to upload or to download.
- Sharing: copy the link, or email it from LinearFiles.
Tips for sharing
- Send the link only to the people who should receive the file. Anyone with the link can download it until it expires.
- Download what you need before the 4-day window closes. After a link expires, the file is gone, so upload it again to get a new link.
- Add a short note when you email a link so the recipient knows what to expect.
