What is LinearFiles?

LinearFiles is a free online tool for sending large files. Drop your files, get a unique download link, and share it with anyone. No account and no app needed.

Is LinearFiles free?

Yes. LinearFiles is free to use, with no sign-up required to send or download files.

How does it work?

Three steps: upload your files (drag and drop or browse), get a unique download link for each file, then copy and paste the link anywhere or email it directly from LinearFiles.

Do I need an account to send or receive files?

No. You don’t need an account to upload, and your recipients don’t need one to download. They just open the link.

How large a file can I send?

Each file can be up to 5 GB.

How long do my files stay online?

Links stay active for 4 days after upload. After that, the file is deleted automatically.

Can I send multiple files at once?

Yes. You can add several files in one go, and each file gets its own download link.

What types of files can I send?

There’s no restriction on file type. Common examples include photos (JPG, PNG, RAW, PSD, AI), video (MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM), audio (MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, M4A), documents (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ebooks), archives (ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR), and design and code files (Figma exports, CAD, 3D models, source code, datasets).

How do I send a whole folder?

Compress the folder into a single archive (ZIP, RAR, 7Z or TAR) first, then upload that file.

Can I extend a link beyond 4 days?

Not at the moment. Every link expires 4 days after upload. If someone needs the file later, simply upload it again to get a fresh link.

Is LinearFiles secure?

Yes. Files are protected with encryption and can only be accessed through their unique, hard-to-guess link. Nothing is listed publicly.

Can I email the link directly from LinearFiles?

Yes. After uploading, use “Share via email” to send the link to a recipient. You can add your name, your email and an optional message.

Can recipients preview files before downloading?

Yes. Images, video and audio can be previewed right in the browser before downloading.

Who can see my files?

Only people who have your link. Files aren’t searchable or listed anywhere on the site, so share the link only with people you trust.

What happens to my files after the link expires?

They’re deleted automatically, so your files don’t linger online longer than needed.
